My Silver Fox Protector:

  • This book is not a dark romance but is currently my most angsty title, and deals with heavy themes at times. The core of the violence comes from the action-adventure themes.

While triggers below are presented in a mild manner, sensitive readers please read mindfully.

Triggers: Voyeurism, Violence, Attempted Sexual Assault, Torture - Off Page with the Exception of Brief On Page Waterboarding, Drugs, PTSD, Vague Reference to Suicide.

If that didn’t scare you away, get ready for an exciting romantic suspense, action adventure romance!

  • Dark romance is super popular right now, and this was my first foray in that direction, though it’s more about creating a high stakes plot rather than a dark romance between the main characters. I personally love rom-coms as well as action-adventure and suspense-mystery. While I enjoyed writing such an intense story, I also think tonally it’s more angsty than dark.

Having read a handful of true dark romances, I’d personally say this is an angsty contemporary, but as my previous titles lean more rom-com, I want to protect my more sensitive readers. :) I got you boo

I personally, am sensitive to overly graphic stories that are too scary, or too dark/demented. My intent was to create some harrowing circumstances with high stakes for the characters to come through, without dwelling on the actual violence itself. For sensitive readers, please keep your wits about you, and for regulars of dark romance, this will be extremely mild for you (I doubt you even got down here, you probably saw trigger warnings and said sign me up!) haha

  • Spoilers to follow

    • The first chapter is the only place where the MMC “lays his hands” on the FMC. The MMC in order to save the FMC from a more brutal attack has to rough her up to appease the powers that be. He utilizes verbal intimidation, cuts her hair, and strikes her once to leave her with a split lip as proof. All in a mask. You’re welcome. :) From this point moving forward, the relationship between the main characters themselves is non-violent.

    • The FMC is kidnapped and briefly ‘waterboarded’ for information regarding the MMC. This is referenced quickly when the MMC finds her and saves her.

    • The first time they have sex the bad guys watch under threat of claiming the FMC for themselves.

    • During a gala one of the bad guys attempts to sexually assault the FMC after drugging her, but the MMC gets there and saves her before anything happens. The moment leads up to the act of intent, but there is no follow through. The MMC then kills the man.

    • At the end of the book the FMC kills several bad guys more-or-less with her bare hands. It’s intense and violent, though the scene is not overly detailed as far as gore. The intent was to include harrowing circumstances without dwelling on graphic details.
